Crash hack in action! Beaten by Ciara with this guide:
Anti crash hack guide:
- The hackers always seems to be elf! So be on aware when you watch elfs on loadscreen. (Especially a double elf team in 2v2)
- As soon as it starts lagging : Go scout all possible start locations with some workers. How will you know that its a hack and not your own piece of shit wooden pc?? Well if you know your own pc well then it shouldnt be hard to notice otherwise... you'll learn after being hacked a few times.
- Pause the game. Timing here is essential. You need to pause right before you would have dropped from the game, in order to give you the most time to build stuff. You only have 3 pauses so spend them wisely. I dont know how long it takes for the hack to complete (if somebody can help me time this precisely?), but if you are going standard altar farm build then its aprox right before your altar finishes. A theory could be that it takes the same time it takes for him to build his "fake moonwell" within his tree of life.
- Wait for him to unpause the game. DO NOT UNPAUSE THE GAME YOURSELF. Have patience... The only way it affects the hack is if he unpauses... So grab a bottle of beer... Its always worth waiting a bit if you know some douche hacker is getting owned.
- Repeat the procedure. By now he is aware that you know how to counter his hack so he will most likely attempt to hide his wisp before making a second attempt. This makes scouting even more important... Find those bastards! The timing of the next pause is abit more improvised, like i said i dont know how long you have exactly, but around a min.
- Attack with everything once your hero pops out. I do mean everything. This is not a standard game. He will not have any forces what so ever so bring all your workers and your army towards his base while scouting the possible locations he could have hidden his wisps in.
- Find and kill his wisps. For some reason the hack seems to have something to do with wisps. Find them and kill them and you win the game.
- Laugh in the hackers face. Humiliation of the hacker is always important after a succesfull ownage. So by all means whisper him after the game.

It doesn't have to be an elf; it's just that the worker that's stacking the commands needs to die and obviously it's easiest to do this with a wisp.
It's gonna be impossible to beat once the hackers realise that they need to hide their workers well at the start and split them up into several groups. I'm just gonna boycott ladder until it's patched.

It can be done with all races, the key is to kill the workers. The hack only requires 2 workers. Most people do it with elf since the game crashes when the worker(that built the invisible building) dies. With other races you just kill that worker with other works or suicide it on creeps. With elf its easiest since you can just detonate it.

Follow these steps to crash your enemy(s):
1) Select any of your workers (say workerA)
2) Right click any other worker (worker - workerA should now follow workerB.
3) Keep workerA selected and press F2 multiple times till a message says "total amount 10000"
From now on you must not issue any new order to workerA or you have to return to step 1 again. Or in more simple words: Do not touch workerA till game is over.
4) Wait till all orders are sent (Best way to check this is to see if you are able to move rally point for example, just dont do anything with workerA)
5) Now kill workerB *
6) Wait till workerB is gone. Everyone not using WUtil 1.02 should now crash.
*Since every F2 press will spam a lot of "place building" orders any new order will not take effect instantly. It will appear is if you are having a very high ping.
For all 10000 orders it will take 1-2 minutes(!) to be sent over the net. So step 3-4 take some time
To avoid getting disconnected make pauses between every few F2 presses. (Do the rally point check, but dont forget to reselect workerA for next few F2 presses)
Also don't press F2 while game is paused or the "Waiting for players..." window is open.
Its also very important that workerA does not die, else it will not work.
Have fun destroying Battle.net!
---Technical aspect: Why/How does this crash the game?---
Everytime you press the F2 hotkey the hack will issue another 500 build orders on an impossible location.
Now if you do that many times your worker will have as example 10000 buildings queued.
As soon as the worker tries to construct the first building of the queue the game will notice the job is not executable and recursively check all others in queue
until it finds an executable one. Because all 10000 buildings are at unbuildable locations the function will call itself 10000 times.. which simply results in a stack overflow.
Around 9000 buildings are required to fill the stack.
This can also be done without any hack, just hold shift and place 9000+ buildings really really fast on the same location. (You probably still need any kind of click tool for this)
When the worker finishes construction of the first building the crash will happen.
It may be also possible with any unit and not using build commands, I have not checked that yet.
For Blizzard there are multiple easy ways to fix this, the easiest is to simply don't allow more than 500 queued jobs per unit (or better, 2000 globally for each player).
Another one would be to don't check jobs recursively, but that still would leave the possibilty of an "laghack" open because adding endless number of jobs will also consume endless memory/cpu.

#12 wc3 is not allowed to use more than 512 mb of my RAM after that, means wc3 process can use only 256 RAM, thats all

Does anyone play this ladder? I guess this is the optional ladder for the bnet ladder but more people should be coming on to play it for it to work out. Atm finding a game is impossible. This is pretty easy to use, easy to login and works practically the very same way as bnet apart from that it's hackless so far I know?

ingnotakashi you obviously did not get what rain means: we do not play warcraft 3 to destroy the hackers ourselves. It's the duty of blizzard to destroy the hackers for us. I am not that addicted to ladder that i'd bother playing mass ladder where half of my games are killing a useless hack just to get a victory. 1) Nobody cares of victories in bnet - that's just the main training platform for main of us. 2) if i really wanna play i can play on ggc vs. friends that i know and know for sure i won't get hacked.
Bothering to make a list who is hacker and who is not is really not worth it. It won't benefit anyone, even blizzard uses other ways to detect their banned hackers. And this is something blizzard should fix, asap it won't be fixed i won't bother to play ladder like this anyway, I am not that greatly depended, since ladder is just train for me and the whole idea of "training" something is taken away by the fact we're hacked and instead of learning how to play a strategy I am learning 'how-to-counter-an-exploit' that blizzard had easily fixed if it wanted to. I wait for blizzard's reaction. Unless there's no reaction at all, I wonder what's my motivation to buy the next game from them, SC 1 was the first story of supreme hackers, wc3 is on its way to be the second sad story.
I think it's about the time Blizzard finally gives us an answer what's going on. The hackers are floating all around bnet, for years now, every time they're banned they're back the next week, no ban seems to affect them and they're always back there. And blizzard is every now and then giving the hackers a new chance "30 days of ban from the ladder and after that the banning of serial" - for me this is clear: proved hackers banned from bnet for good once gotten caught. At least they had to search a new serial every time they get banned which could have a positive impact on Bnet.

Yes there's a big difference between not being able to play online War3, and being excluded of all leagues/tournaments and completly discredited as a player.
The famous "list" of hackers serves this second purpose.

There's nothing to do against those hacktards, that's why noone is still playing on bnet. Adding their nickname on a list would no nothing as they'd make another account, or not even that, they are unknown players, I don't think they'll even care about it. In case blizzard patches ( they probably won't ) those idiots will make another hack, the only hope is relying on Bnet 2.0 which will be used on sc2. But on wc3.. there are hackers since ROC came out, there's nothing to do against them.
I'm even wondering if blizzard will let scum like this again in the new bnet's season, would be funny to see 6 players doing this drop hack to each other on the offline event.

Ive suggested that myself many times to ban the russian IP range from Northrend and give them their own server.
Yes it would suck for the small amount of legit players but thats what happens when your fellow countrymen insists on hacking every goddamn day as much as they can.
In another online game i played (dont remember which) they had BIG problems with hackers and they noticed that almost all were from Israel so they banned the whole country from playing and hacking problems stopped almost completely. But blizzard are pussies and too politically correct to do something like that.

totally agree with #121. The best solution to hacking problem is to seperate russians to their own bnet. Most of hackers (and also the ones creating hacks, unfortunately) happen to be russians. It's not that I hate Russia or Russians but the people should realize that it's just mainly them that hack. Russians are the ones in bnet with the worst ping, I believe they just want a fair game for themselves by hacking because of their ping. I think it'd also be a solution to many other problems like the pings of russians to seperate them to their own bnet where they could play with a russian server with fairer ping. Americans also have their own servers for the game, not because they wanna be isolated but because of the pings. Asians asap as well. Don't see how it has anything to do with "racism" to make a solution that increases the quality of the game for russians and keeps them seperated of europe.

Seems like there's some kind of new hack out already, it laggs the same as that "wc3 closing hack" but you don't get disced, and after a while you get the message that you won the game, and when ending the game you get a loss. Happend a few times to me already, so I thought I'd press continue instead when I got that win message. So I killed everything he had and then left, and I got the win, dunno if it was just co-incidence but seemed to work.

I just heard of another great advice - you can make yourself lag on purpose by ALT+TABbing, then right-click on minimized wc3 and wait few seconds. It screws with their hack :D

LISTEN TO THIS ALL OF YOU : AT 2n2 games you can't prevent drophack unless you got drophack yourself or anti drop hack . Here's why : if you do not have any of the 2 things i just said the only way to stop dh is by pausing . The matter is , while 1 of them is drophacking , the other one just resumes every pause u and ur ally make. So ur pauses will be like for 1 second , not affecting the hack at all , when the pause ends you will get normaly dropped. I know that from personal expirience.
