Mojawi Gaming Warcraft III squad disbands by Elven_Star @ 2010-07-09 09:08:29
ReMinD searching for a new team

Warcraft III community suffers another blow today, as one of the best European teams disbands.

Mojawi Gaming which ReMinD and FoCuS called home for several months, calls it quits due to financial problems.

According to the official website, after BenoƮt "Shaeda" Pedeches' departure it would be impossible for the team to pay its players, thus they saw it fit to let them go.

That puts some high calibre players on the market to be hopefully picked up by the remaining organizations that still support Warcraft.

wow on the other hand this only affects only in european scene. I hope russian/china scene will start aggressive expansion now. luckily I have noticed that sc II wont tear this game apart.

... though blizzard wont market one of it`s best product.

#8 only 3 players joined BWC btw

Very bad news for w3 since players such as ReMinD or FoCuS need high salaries, and since the few teams remaining who can afford to pay such salaries don't really need those players.

And, for the people who said they are not affected by the disband of the ex best euro team and prolly top3 world team, they shall get a brain coze it's quite obvious that w3 pro scene goes one more step down with this db, unless if those people don't care of w3 anymore of course, but if so, they should not waste their precious time talking here.

No doubt about it, it is a sad day for all those who still love w3. Who cares of others.

Thanks to all guys who supported Mojawi and the players since 11 months & goodbye Mojawi, this was a really nice adventure to live with you guys.

ehmm.. I have a really weird quesiton:
Could it be possible that Blizzard does something " behind the scenes " so that warcraft tournaments die, teams can't pay salaries for players - just for that everybody buys SC2?
Sorry for my english. didnt really know how to write it different.. but i think you understood my idea :P

#11 Why do they NEED high salaries? I think you meant that they DESERVE high salaries? Are they picky players?

#13 All they're doing is not caring about anything right now other than WoW and SC2. That is enough of a reason to why Wc3 is cracking apart. But what the hell am I talking about, we dont need blizzard to stay alive, all we need is ourself, the community (what's left of it). Come, unite, stay strong and stay together. Wc3 is an AWESOME game and deserves us more now than ever before.

Wc3 forever!

#15 Sorry. I meant that since ReMinD is probably the best elf in the world at the moment, and FoCuS one of the best orcs, they should have the salary that they deserve, yes, but they aren't picky. Nevertheless, because of their huge talent, I do not think many teams can afford to pay those wages. But we have all - except ReMinD, unfortunately - joined BWC, then I can be mistaken, and anyway that is a good thing for w3.

#16 100% agree with you !

It is normal when new game comes, predecessor's influence gonna shrink... It is sad, but it is how it has to be :) it's the general idea of the evolution :)
although i do love wc3 and i do hope it still will have its audience, but i think that wc3 is not that powerful as sc:bw were, so when sc2 will be available (and will have at least something resembling balance) major part of the games, that started with sc:bw and went to wc3 will return... at least for a while of course, because in case of sc2 will turn out to be substantially worse game than wc3 (and I serously doubt that), people might get back to wc3.

Sooner or later the pro scene will die. Investing in Wc3 is not profitable since a long time for advertising companies, so the budget for tournaments and proteams will get lower and lower and finally reach zero (at least in europe) ... this news is a big step in this direction. Wc3 will become completely amateur- and community-driven. Maybe this is a good thing?!

^RoC has survived this way for a VERY long time. So the community-wise Wc3 has a lot of years still ahead of it.

WC3 Is the best game ever, I don't believe I would play any other game for at least a few times a week for over 7 years.

Lol, a 2 year old interview of Bendik:

"When SC2 hits the board, I will immediately move towards that scene. [...] I can ensure you guys that we will put even more effort into SC2. "

So I've proven him a liar posthumously. Missed the Sc2 release by some days, Fail!
